John 4:22-24 You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
2.Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
God is looking for true worshippers. When He finds them He embraces them in their spirit and willingly accepts them.
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. We need the Lord's liberty to feel and be free. All week long people around us expect us to be dignified and proper which is bondage. The opposite of liberty is bondage.
If somebody had a reason to act dignified then it was David. He was the king of Israel, however, he loved God and wanted to worship Him from his whole heart. He knew that God alone is worthy and, therefore, he laid his royal garments aside, put on the priest's ephod and danced in front of the Ark of the Covenant. He was a man as according to God's heart, for he was a true worshipper. (2.Samuel 6:14-18)
God never intended us to be dignified in worship, that is bondage. God wants us to worship in Spirit and in truth, and not according to our flesh and man's wisdom. The flesh and man's wisdom brings us into religious bondage. The Spirit of the Lord does not bless religion. He blesses spiritual and true worship.
Let us as true worshippers of God's Spirit maintain His freedom in our lives and hold on firmly to the truth, which is the Bible. Through true worshippers, God can do great things. Ecclesiastes 8:4 Where the word of a king is, there is power. Jesus is the King of kings and the almighty God. All worship belongs to Him alone. mr
