Seeing with God's Eyes

1 Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

I wonder how our perspective would change, if we could see with God's eyes for just one day. We would no longer consider our neighbor as being a rich, respected person who has everything at his beck and call. Instead, his heart would look like a haggard, shadowy object, which has virtually fallen apart as a result of the extreme heavy load of sin. If someone would shine the spot light on the photo model with the perfect face, then they would see the form of a woman who is so injured by an emotional trauma, that they would no longer be able to recognize her.

If we could see how God sees, we would no longer avoid the sad and evil outsider at school, for we would finally realize what is wrong with him: Wearily, he is dragging his heavy iron chains of despondency which are binding his hands and feet.

People need the Lord Jesus so much more than we could ever imagine. Oh, that He would help us to break away from our superficial point of view - to look towards the wounded souls, inflicted with deep scars, around us. KC
