God is always there

Psalm 42:7-11 Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; all Your waves and billows have gone over me. The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with me; a prayer to the God of my life. I will say to God my Rock, "Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?" As with a breaking of my bones, my enemies reproach me, while they say to me all day long, "Where is your God?" Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God.

Maybe I'm just writing to myself, but I feel like this is where a lot of people are right now. My family has just gone through the loss of a dear friend, and it seems like God doesn’t hear me cry. I started asking questions like, where is God? Does He care? But then I read this Psalm, and that's when it hit me. I may feel like God isn't there, but in my heart I know He is. When someone you love dies, you want to try to understand why this happened. What possible reason could God have for taking my friend?

The truth is, some things are not for us to understand. God always knows best, and you can’t stop trusting Him just because you don't get the answers you want. Even though you FEEL alone, just remember the other trials He has brought you through. You are HERE, because Jesus was THERE. He will NEVER leave you. He just wants to know if you'll trust Him through it all. bl
