The two most important questions in life

Acts 4:12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Acts 19:2-3 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.

There are many important questions in life we can ask ourselves. But in my opinion the very first two questions Paul asks these believers in Ephesus, meeting them for the first time, are for me the two most important ones. Before he asks them where they come from, who they are or what profession they have. Before he asks them what “church” they belong to, or who is their Pastor. He goes straight to the point and asks: Do you have the Holy Ghost? Since this is the very first question Paul asks them, it must mean this was of the greatest value and concern for Paul. Question No 1 you need to ask yourself: Have I received the Holy Ghost the way the first church did?

When they answered negative to the first question, he then asks question No 2: What baptism were you baptized with? Or, in what way have you been baptized? This question is more important today than ever before. It’s not enough to ask IF you are baptized. We must ask, HOW were you baptized? Paul explains how we should be baptized: In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Rev Gøran ANdreassen
